After Frederick W. Taylor bought the estate, he hired the Olmsted Brothers in 1902 to redesign the boxwood enclosed gardens from the orginal Du Barry estate. This involved enormous efforts to move the century old hedges. J.C. Olmsted's first site visit notes are found in job 00166 which bordered the Taylor property and shared a drive.
