The Swan Point Cemetery Board of Directors called on Frederick Law Olmsted in 1894 to “design the layout of the balance of the cemetery road.” [Shedd and Sack to FLO_10-23-1894_LOC-OAR-B-00334_im 2]. The site occupied 60 acres in Providence, RI, where Olmsted created a plan for the piece of undeveloped land between Blackstone Blvd. and Rochambeau Avenue.
