synopsis

Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. was asked to draw a plan for the 27 acres of West Virginia University in 1899. The Omsted Brothers advised on the placement of three new buildings, the library, the armory, and the mechanical hall. A general plan was created in 1901 showing new grading to the campus (plan 02214-20).
