Also known as “Wildacre”, the Newport, RI, estate was designed in 1901-02. Home to Frederick Law Olmsted’s brother, Albert Olmsted (referred to as Uncle Harry in correspondence), the 8,000 square foot house is recognized as one of the most elaborate and expensive properties in the area.

Home to Frederick Law Olmsted’s brother, Albert Olmsted (referred to as Uncle Harry in correspondence), the 8,000 square foot house is recognized as one of the most elaborate and expensive properties in the area. Designed by John Charles Olmsted and Irving Gill, the plan for the grounds featured two circular driveways and a large garden (plan 02221-39-pt).
