The Olmsted Brothers prepared plans for the 88 acres of Wyman Park in 1903, as part of their development of the Baltimore Park System. The firm wrote to the President of the railroad company so that “plans for the park and for the railroad….[could be] worked up as one consistent scheme of improvement.”

The firm wrote to the President of the railroad company so that “plans for the park and for the railroad….[could be] worked up as one consistent scheme of improvement.” In order to extend the park, the firm proposed to acquire the west side of the valley from Merryman’s Lane to a point opposite to the Cedar Avenue Viaduct, with a view to connecting with Druid Hill Park.” [Olmsted Brothers_to John Wilson Brown_02-17-1903_LOC-OAR-B-R 92_im.3] The plan from 1907 included walks and sewer in the eastern section of the park (plan 02402-117).
