The Olmsted Brothers drew plans for Venable Park from 1914-1919. They worked with the City of Baltimore to determine the standards of the parks, deciding on a width of 120 ft for the park roads which would include a pedestrian walk, planting space, road, and parking space, The park was designed in a naturalistic style and they “therefore graded the ground in such a manner that there will be a comparatively large area available for playground purposes and still have a graceful natural appearance.” [P.R. Jones to William S. Manning_02-15-1914_LOC-OAR-B-R93_im.6] A stadium was built on the park in 1922, and is no longer present.
