synopsis

Taking advantage of the opening of Cherokee Park and the newly extended street car service, Harriet Bonnycastle, who was widowed in 1884, hired the Olmsted Brothers firm in 1904 to revise the subdivision of the family estate. The new layout for the central blocks, which overlooked Cherokee Park, included designated areas for stables behind the houses.
