synopsis
One of three parks in Spokane for which the Olmsted firm prepared designs, Liberty Park impressed John Charles Olmsted and James Frederick Dawson with its hills, valleys and basalt outcroppings. It was improved in 1911, but the construction of Interstate 90 between 1967 and 1972 forced it to be reconfigured and only 2.5 of the original acres remained within the new boundaries.
