The Forest and George Adiar Real Estate Company contacted the Olmsted Brothers in 1910 regarding the development of a high class tourist hotel. Advising on the design the firm suggested, “it strikes us that the success of the hotel would be better assured if the hotel is given a greater amount of simple but bold and effective architectural adornment than has been thought necessary…"
