Olmsted Brothers received a December 1909 topographic map from Spokane landscape architect M.E. Estep. Correspondence followed over the next two years (available at Library of Congress). This rugged, undeveloped property in the Cliff Park Addition is close to a half dozen residential jobs by the firm, including property owned by Powell (job 09370) and the subsequent owner, Humbird (job 06506).

This rugged, undeveloped property in the Cliff Park Addition is close to a half dozen residential jobs by the firm, including property owned by Powell (job 09370) and the subsequent owner, Humbird (job 06506).

In 1909 V.D. Williamson, president of several mining companies, owned this rugged piece of property in Spokane’s Cliff Park Addition. Later T.J. Humbird acquired it and in 1917 had James Frederick Dawson design the landscape for a Kirtland Cutter house he built there. The only plan in the Olmsted Archives associated with the Williamson job is the contour map of the 5 1/2 lots he owned, drawn by a local civil engineer for Spokane landscape architect M.E. Estep. Williamson and Olmsted Brothers may have discussed developing the property but a project never materialized. This project is miscategorized as a Park and should be a Private Estate & Homestead.
