Named for Judge Handley, whose bequest in 1895 funded a library and trust to build schools to benefit the poor, this job was for the first school. The elegant neoclassical revival school is treasured by the community. From the plans in the firm file, it is not apparent if the involvement of the Olmsted firm progressed much beyond an initial site visit and sketch by John Charles Olmsted in 1916.
