For the Beacon Falls, CT property the Olmsted Brothers focused on variety and color, explaining the planting scheme “embodies more or less an evergreen planting to the north of the house consisting of cedars, pines, hemlocks, firs and other taller-growing trees for a screen, and an undergrowth of some flowering evergreens as rhododendrons, azaleas, and andromedas, with some deciduous shrubs and trees scattered through them.” [Olmsted Brothers to Mr. Tracy M. Lewis._09-18-1916_LOC-OAR-B-R300_im.2] While the plan was received by Mr. Lewis, correspondence reveals the project was put on hold and no further action was taken.
