Mr. Peterkin desired “to build several modest homes scattered about in advantageous positions” in Boca Grande and the firm desired to make improvements to the areas existing buildings and landscapes. [Report, C.R. Peterkin, Florida_4-08-1924_LOC-OAR-B-R367_im.5] Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. led the project and the plan for the Gulf Section showed a subdivision of housing blocks near the Charlotte Harbor and along a county road (plan 07306-27). It was agreed that “starting at Gasparilla it [the road] should run from the beach substantially on a production of a tangent of the R.R. Bridge and curve into a location on the grassy ground immediately east of the beach.” [Report of Visit by F.L.Olmsted_LOC-OAR-B-R367_im.91]
