In 1926 the Olmsted Brothers drew a preliminary plan for the subdivision known as Kernewood in Baltimore, MD. John W. Garett, local resident and president of the B & O Railroad, contacted the firm “to develop about 30 acres of land on Cold Springs Lane just North of the Guilford property” and adjacent to his country house.
