In 1911-12 James Frederick Dawson designed for Spokane Parks Board chair and real estate entrepreneur, Aubrey White, grounds for his home at First Avenue and Hemlock in Browne’s Addition. Dawson provided a preliminary plan, entry gate perspective sketch, fence and gate details and planting studies.

In 1911-12 James Frederick Dawson designed for Spokane Parks Board chair and real estate entrepreneur, Aubrey White, grounds for his home at First Avenue and Hemlock in Browne’s Addition. Dawson provided a preliminary plan, entry gate perspective sketch, fence and gate details and planting studies. Extensive correspondence revealed White’s passion for plants and trees, and desire to secure privacy from the street. Overextended, White offered to pay design fees in speculative lead mine stock. Olmsted Brothers declined and finally wrote off his debt in 1925.
