Description
Color stereograph shows Mariposa Grove, which FL Olmsted and JC Olmsted visited in 1864 when FL Olmsted was managing the Mariposa Estate gold mines. The trees in Yosemite National Park are Giant Sequioas, as Redwoods grow near the coast rather than inland, but the name Giant Redwoods was often used interchangeably at the time this stereograph was made between 1914-1949.
